This feast provides an opportunity from our four Nations on Vancouver Island (Kwakwaka'wakw, Nuu Chah Nulth, Coast Salish and Metis) to provide a traditional welcome. We envision it to be like Tribal Journeys where each Nation is standing in front of their totem pole (the Metis will have a teepee on site) and welcoming students onto our shore/campus.Uncle Gary Manson (Elder in Residence) said protocol starts with the community the furthest away, so we will start with the Nuu Chah Nulth (10:00 AM), then to Kwakwaka'wakw (11:00 AM), Lunch (12:00 PM), Metis (1:00 PM), and then finishing off with Coast Salish (2:00 PM.)
